PROGRESS ON THE SIH PROJECT
The SIH Project: Industrial Water Symbiosis through sensorics and reuse intelligence, is based on the use of digital technologies to assess the potential for water reuse in a target entity (industrial estate, cooperative, municipality, county, small productive areas, etc.)
The main objective of the project is to generate a prototype of a tool for the internal management of water resources between different neighbouring entities, reducing total consumption (water footprint) and allowing its reuse.
This system, based on the integration of information and technologies, is based on the characterisation of a set of production processes and their effects on the characteristics of the water used, and on the analysis that allows them to be redirected to other processes by means of an intelligent system, converting the waste from some processes and entities into the resources of others and avoiding unnecessary and costly deterioration of the water.
Our work so far has focused on the following work packages:
- WP2.-Design and usability of reuse intelligence, led by the University of Zaragoza. We are collaborating in the definition of the scope and architecture of the reuse intelligence digital platform prototype, which will have to be developed in WP5, led by Geoslab.
- WP3.-Algorithms resulting from use and regeneration processes. Here the joint work between the VELABER team, in charge of modelling, and the UNIZAR and GEOSLAB teams, in charge of digital implementation, is key to the success of the project.
In the near future we will have to address the work package of which we are leaders: WP5: Prototyping of the reuse intelligence system.
This work package will involve the integration of all the elements and results of the project in terms of technology, methodology and knowledge.
