The project ‘SENSACCES: Intelligent and accessible inertial sensors for the visually impaired: prototyping for various use cases in telerehabilitation’ was selected in the 2024 call for applications for grants for ‘Multi-country’ projects, linked to the PERTE de Salud de Vanguardia and financed by the Centre for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI).

These grants are framed within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and the State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research 2024-2027 (PEICTI).

The main objective of SENSACCES is to develop an innovative telerehabilitation service, based on low-cost portable sensors, aimed at people with visual impairment or blindness. During the development of the project, work will be done to improve the accessibility of rehabilitation technology, optimise the quality of treatment and promote its effective integration into the daily lives of users.

The consortium consists of two main partners:

And other collaborating partners:

The iHealthy group will lead the task of validating the sensors on patients in a laboratory environment, which will be essential to assess their feasibility in real simulated situations.

To ensure a comprehensive approach, the project will have the collaboration of the ONCE University School of Physiotherapy, whose extensive experience will be key to address, from the outset, the accessibility needs and expectations of users with severe visual impairment or blindness.

GEOSLAB will be responsible for integrating the information collected by the sensors developed by Technosicence into the HEFORA telerehabilitation platform.
